Studying and Showing Myself Approved
Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus.
First, I must say, that my past life living without Christ Jesus, wasn’t easy for me, so I gave my life to the Lord, and started serving Him... but when I started serving the Lord, my spiritual journey got even harder than I could have even imagined... yet I tried my best to keep the faith.
I’ve always wanted to know the Bible well, but I wasn’t reading my Bible on a regular basis.
Thank God for CBS.
As I began to study the book of John, in chapter 1:1 it says "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." I memorized this verse because it was saying something to my spirit, and as we studied more of the Gospel of John. I understood that it is impossible to know the word of God, and not live by Hhis words, because the word is a guide and a tool, that we as Christians must all live by and use to show others the way to Christ Jesus.
In the book of John, I see that Jesus loved Peter and restored him, and that tells me that, it doesn’t matter what you've done. You might fall short of His glory at some point in your life, but the Lord is a forgiving Saviour. He has removed from my life the things that do not please Him, and He restores me with the things that bring honour and glory to His Father in Heaven, and I thank the Lord, for
restoring me.
Like Nicodemus, I myself sometimes question the Lord whenever there are things that I don’t understand, and because the lord knows all things, He always gives me His reply, and that reassures me that I can talk to Him about anything, anytime.
In John 4:46-53 a certain nobleman’s son was sick unto death, and he begged Jesus to come to his home, to lay hands on his son and make him well. Jesus stayed, but told the man to go home, and that his son was healed. The man obeyed, and went home, because he believed in Jesus, and his son was indeed healed.
Jesus healed a man that was crippled for 38 years.
This tells me that Jesus specializes in things that seem impossible to man, and there is nothing too hard for the Lord to do. When all the doctors and all the medical teams give up and retire, Jesus is still in the healing business, He never retires.
In John 6 Jesus multiplied 2 fishes and 5 loaves, and fed a multitude of over 38,000, and this also reassures me, that I need not worry where my next meal is coming from, and especially in such a time as this, because He is my provider, and He provides me with the bread of life, and the living water, and I shall never hunger or thirst again.
Brothers and sisters, I love this one... In John 11, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.
When I was much younger and wasn’t walking with the lord, I found myself in some situations that I would seem dead. At some points, I almost gave up, I felt like just throwing in the towel and calling it a day. I knew the Lord but I wasn’t serving him. From time to time I hear people, Christians and non-Christians, quoting Lazarus’ story when faced with a problem. They would say “he’s an on-time God. He might be 4 days late, but he is always on time, and those words
always touched me... now having studied the story in John 11, I fully understand and can now truly testify, that He might be 4 days late, but he is still on time, and He does come through for me.
In John 8:31-32, Jesus said to the Jews that saw all the miracles that He performed, and believed in Him - “If you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
I am so glad, today I am free, and who the Son of God sets free, is free indeed.
Brothers and sisters, for me personally, studying the book of John, has given me wisdom, to know the word of God. It has given me knowledge to apply the word, and understanding to share the truth of God. The book of John has given me insights, and has added more clarity to my spiritual walk. I am blessed by every lesson that I have studied over the past few weeks, and I have no regrets. I intend to continue to attend [CBS Classes].
I must say a great big thank you, to our Small Group Leader, who has done
an awesome job in facilitating the class each and every Sunday. Hats off to you.
Brothers and sisters, let us all continue to be His sheep because He is our good Shepherd, and let us continue to be good branches, so that we will be able to bear only good fruit... and trust and obey the word of our Lord Jesus.
Thank you for allowing me to testify, and thank you Jesus, for
your blessings.
