"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." ~ Hebrews 12:1

There's a time of year, when Jamaica gets electrified by a very special multi-day event, affectionately known as Champs.

This special event is the largest of its kind anywhere in the world and brings together schools from near and far, east and west and allows them to come together and bring out their best in the press for the coveted prize of the championship.

There are so many that are involved in the championship, from those who coach and nourish to those who watch and cheer.

Among the masses that descend upon the national stadium, each person has his or her specific and crucial role for the tournament to be a success. Β Many of those roles are supporting roles, which regardless of what they look like, have one main objective in common... to ensure that their athlete presents their best.

In an atmosphere that very much mirrors other globally spectated mass events, such as the Olympics and World Championships, runners are guided, provided for and even protected... all the way up to the moment when they get on their marks to face the starter's "Go."

Beyond that point now, the race is all up to the runner.

In our lives, we find a similar kind of parallel. Β God has sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross as a sacrifice and a substitute for us. Β He has left us with His example, with His Holy Spirit, His Word, His teachers, anointing, support system of other believers in Christ.

We are fully set to run the race.

God's divine power has given us everything we need for life more abundantly and godliness.

Don't worry when the race seems difficult, don't worry about others running the race... don't even worry about that body part threatening to quit on you.

He who began a good work in you... will be faithful to complete it. Β You started the race, you were running well... what then could possibly hinder you from completing the race?

With the kind of setup we have... the correct answer is: "Nothing".

So remember that God knows everything that you need and every speedbump that you might encounter and every distraction. Β God is in control, so you have just one job... Run The Race.
