Bridge The Light ⚡💡

Here in Jamaica, there is a fairly common practice in some communities to "unofficially" "tap into" the power lines that run near their homes to access electricity and power up their dwellings.

Locally we'd say that these are people who "bridge the light".

Essentially, it's just an act of using some conductive material, typically a special run of copper wire, to make a connection between the source of the power (i.e. the electrical grid) and their residence.

As you would imagine, this does create some problems and is something very much frowned upon in general due to the deleterious effects that could result, which include (but are not limited to) damage to homes and equipment, fire, electrical shock, damage to the grid that serves multiple communities and even death.

In these "informal" thrown-up arrangements the persons in search of the power have no formal relationship with the actual source of the power.  Oftentimes they're not really interested in establishing any such relationship either, their main focus is getting to the end result and accessing the benefits.

This scenario makes for an excellent object lesson for us to remember as ambassadors and messengers of God.

The search for electrical benefits and power is not unlike what we see in the world today, where many seek the benefits, the blessings, the protection of God... but aren't really all that interested in establishing a real relationship with the real source of power.

This is what leads to many being swooned by the false promises of guard rings, special potions, incantations and many other snippets of the dark arts... people want what God has to offer, they just don't want to or... don't know how to go about attaining access the right way.

This is where the job of the believer in Christ comes in.

If you are an emissary for Jesus' Power Source, then your mission is to find those people who need power and connect them to that Power... our Heavenly Father.

Just like those throwing up copper wires rely on something with maximum conductivity to ensure a rich supply of power, so should the Holy Spirit be able to rely on you being a very live wire for Him... not having your spirit dulled or sullied by the world.

We must be ready and sharp and living right so that we can bridge the gap between those who do not know Christ and God Himself.

While there are many claims and reasons that some will make for "sidestepping" the formal relationship to access electricity for their houses and buildings, including the most popular factor of cost... the best news is that, to access the power that Jesus promises, all you have to do is connect and everything will be free... regardless of high usage or low usage.  In Jamaica, the government has committed to pay a bit of the bill for some residents... but consider this, the life-changing power that flows freely from God is already paid for... in full.

So don't scoff at those you may see groping in the darkness of this life.  Be that point of contact as God leads and prepares you.  Get in touch with those in the dark and Bridge The Light.
