A Lukewarm Life ☕😝

Have you ever gotten yourself all psyched up to dive into one of your favourite meals?  Meaning something you've dreamed of, planned for and meticulously orchestrated to be able to press pause and enjoy? The very thought of it makes your mouth just drool pools of water. 🤤 Or maybe for you, it's a special cup of tea or coffee? Or perhaps an amazing bowl of homemade soup?

Now have you ever made the plunge, fully ready to reap the rewards of that relished smack of flavour and satisfaction that you've been anticipating...  only to be met with a tepid taste of not-hot, not-cold disappointment?

If you have, you know that it's a super-disappointing feeling.  You may feel confused, frustrated and even upset.

For most people, the immediate and automatic reaction, in fact, would just be to spit out the offending morsel, with disgust.

As we go through life, we're called to walk it... no, run it, with a certain passion, a certain zest to engage in the things that God has placed in our hearts.

God wants us to live life out loud for Him.

We're called by our Heavenly Father to come to Him boldly, to trust Him confidently, to step out in Faith and not be crippled and made timidly tepid by fear.

God wants us to be hot for Him, so that He knows where we stand, so we can be effective in our life missions, so that others will want to warm up in the very same glow that seems to be powering our lives.

God would even prefer that if we are not hot, we are cold.  That means we're not pretending to present a fire that has all but been extinguished.  It's obvious when something is cold what needs to be done.  It needs re-heating.

What does not please our God is for us to attempt to straddle those two states of serving.  Like that disappointing sample that was neither hot nor cold... evoking surprise and disdain, but only after the failed engagement, we too hobble the ministry and work of the Kingdom of God when we carry ourselves, incognito as people aflame with the Spirit of God, when in truth we're only doing the bare minimum to associate ourselves with the work of God.

We must present ourselves to God to respond to His correction, re-alignment and reignition.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was sent by the Father.  He came and showed us what a purpose-driven anointed life of sold-out passion looks like.  He has left us with His legacy to pattern.  As Christ sacrificed to present for us the best, let us also sacrifice and every day strive to choose not to settle for an offering of A Lukewarm Life.
